Harper’s Isotope Cover-Up

Yesterday’s report from Toronto Star cite a source as saying that it will take longer than 3 months to fix the NRU reactor used to produce isotope. Apparently, Harper’s government already knew about this. Globe and Mail cited Liberal MP Regan as suggesting that Harper wanted AECL to wait until Parliament is in summer recess before revealing the real extent and duration of the repair.

The fact that it would take longer to repair is not very surprising considering it required weeks of planning and work just to scan and find the leak. It also took a while to cool down the reactor and allow testing equipments to get in there. So basically, it appeared like Harper tried to cover-up what they already knew. The Star article mentioned:

“The source said the delay is consistent with what AECL has been telegraphing for some time, much to the frustration of Natural Resources Minister Lisa Raitt.” …

“Regan said it was only a few weeks ago that Raitt and the head of AECL appeared before the Natural Resources parliamentary committee refusing to acknowledge that the repair would take much more than three months.”

So did they mislead Canadians by giving the impression that it could be back in three months to duck criticism while Parliament was still in session? They rather sweep the problem under the rug to prevent the public from finding out than admit there is a problem and work on a non cosmetic solution. They remind me of the proverbial boy who keeps telling a lie and covering things up until the problem have gotten too big to handle, then the S hits the fan.

  1. It’s time for a real revolution! When the citizens rise up against the corruption and inside political dealings, then we will have FREEDOM again, the kind of freedom our forefathers had for a very brief period of time.

    Down with LIBERALS!!
    Down with CONSERVATIVES!!

If you identify with one of these groups, you are part of the problem, not part of the solution.

Liberals seek to imprison your thoughts through such fascist tactics as Political Correctness and social blackmail.

Conservatives seek to imprison your body through tactics like the ruthless perversion of our capitalist system and an over-abundance of laws that only the insiders know well enough to manipulate.

    Revolution is coming.
    Revolution is coming.
    Revolution is coming.
