It Pays To Be A Sheep Eh Mike?

Unethical and unprofessional journalist take note. It pays to be a sheep to Harper’s Conservative. You will be rewarded with lifetime monarch like privilege. This was clearly evident as Harper announced the winners who will be entitled to a Senate seat. With a salary of about $130,000 for a part time job with extra pay for being in a committee. Pension at age 55 that is equivalent to 75% of your highest salary from the last 5 years. $20,000 travel expenses in a year which is transferable. Let the good time roll courtesy of Stephen “I will never appoint a Senator” Harper. While Harper choose to cut the opposition funding feigning fiscal prudence, he racket up the spending with the Senate appointment. One of his spin used to sell this is it would help reform the Senate. But the truth is Senate reform could not happen from within the Senate. It needs the consent of the different provinces in Canada.

With at least 10 more positions set to become available in 2009, other Con TV journalist succedding Mike have few months to prove they can outdo their predecessor in gaining Harper’s blessing for a lucrative payback.

  1. Hi, like yourself, I have some thoughts about Harper’s decision to become a party leader that rewards party faithful. Check out my thoughts at:
