With two major party in Canada being led by Ignatieff and Harper, I really don’t know what to think.

This whole power grab in Liberal party have shown that party insiders and backroom power broker would have no qualms in the future of undermining the party leader to install someone who would be more amenable to their interest.  For now, “Senior Liberals” like Raymond Heard have won. Party elite like him who have so much contempt for the more socially conscious side of the party. Heard once angrily denounce fellow Liberals as being “a bunch of socialist”. You would think such accusations are only made by the likes of Bush and Harper. But no, these hawkish Liberal leaders think they own the throne and would destroy and back snipe anyone until one of their own is put in power. So I guess congratulations are in order for the coronation of Ignatieff.

I’ll probably try to go on hiatus as far as commenting on anything about the Liberal party for the next weeks or months. Unless the new leader manage to do something contemptible in these short period of time.  On the other hand, Harper continue to outdone himself in terms of being the most vile leader I have ever seen, only third world despotic murderous leader could surpass his repulsiveness.  He continue to lie and bully his way through. The only counter for his repetitive lie is repetitive statement of truth and facts.

  1. I hope you don’t go on hiatus on Liberal issues… I can see why you say that though; it’s difficult to be critical of a cause one supports because of fear of hurting the cause. But I’m a bit worried about what Ignatieff is going to do (kill the coalition; unknown but possibly right-wing policy direction). One good thing is that Rae exited this thing in such a way that he’s going to be powerful in the party.
