It is a historic day indeed today as Americans go to poll to vote for their first black president. People were lining up even before the sunrise to make sure they don’t get shut out in what is expected to be a long backlog. For a modern democracy, it’s an abomination that people have to lineup so long to vote. It’s like the saying justice delayed is justice denied. We can say that – voting delayed is voting denied . In a lot of cases this is what happens literally. People virtually get cutoff at polls close or leave since they can’t spend the whole day lining up. They can’t miss work since they have to earn their much needed income to pay for their bills.

My prediction is if Obama is not declared winner early in the evening, voting irregularities leading to prolong confusion would give the win to McCain.
