Conservative damage control

Stephen Harper went into damage control mode firing his communication director Ryan Sparrow. Sparrow accused Jim Davis of being a political hack for simply expressing his personal opinion about Harper’s plan to withdraw from Afghanistan. During normal non-election time, Conservative have been using the same method of ridiculing and smearing their critics just as U.S. Republicans and their lackey in Fox news does. They usually get away with it but this time with the average Canadian actually paying attention to politics, such behaviour as Harper come to realize would not be tolerated. Expression of outrage once again started to spread just as their tasteless “bird pooping on Dion” ad did. Firing Ryan Sparrow is just a cop out. It’s just shifting blame hoping to cover up the real nature of Harper and his party. If you follow politics before election, you would have seen so many more outrageous instances of Harper himself smearing any one who criticize him. He made it untenable for the Election Chief to stay in office which resulted in his resignation. He did this because the election chief dared to investigate his party on circumventing election spending limit by means of money laundering scheme. He even accused Liberal of being made up of Taliban Sympathizer. When Liberal criticized Harper’a anti-terror law, they went on well orchestrated campaign and accused Liberal of being infiltrated by extremist.  They went on air waves pretty much the same way Republican does with all his lackey speaking the same line. Today’s event is actually quite tame compared to a lot of other things they have done. But Harper should get kudos for quickly sweeping his dirt under the rug and hope average Canadian, who have no appetite for such behavior, won’t notice.

In closing, here’s a video on youtube that shows clips of some of the smear campaign by Harper.

Spread the word! Don’t be fooled by Harper’s Bush style deception.

  1. I wish Harper had fired Sparrow but he only suspended him which means he wants to keep Sparrow on ice for future duties. I think a campaign to get Sparrow fired is in order.
