The twisting of the truth has begun

Visiting the conservatives website, they already have two pieces of distortion against Dion. One is that they try to paint Dion as being out of touch just because he have to ask what the term car pool is. It is no secret that Dion’s English is not up to par with English speaker in Canada but Harper hopes to spin that into a major environmental or leadeship flaw. The second piece of distortion is about Liberal’s plane emitting more carbon. Liberal have struggled to find a plane and unlike the corporate donation rich Conservative who can afford to always have their own plane, Liberal have a hard time finding a plane and have to settle for older plane. What Harper naturally ignore is Liberal would be using Bus at the start of their campaign. Whereas, Harper would be travelling from east and jumped right into West on his Jet. Expect more U.S. Republican style distortion of facts. Maybe Harper hopes he can bog things down on small inconsequential details hoping to bypass the major issues. I think we need a fact check web site here in Canada for expected deluge of distortion from Stephen “I want a majority” Harper.

I forgot to mentioned one important fact that would put to shame and reveal Harpers hypocrisy. They criticize Liberal’s choice of plane but intentionally overlook the fact that all opposition parties are getting their greenhouse gas emission, during the campaign, measured by an independent environmental firms. They would offsets these by investing in projects that would help reduce emissions of greenhouse gases. Since these counts as campaign expenses, this would reduce the amount they could spent in campaign ads. So this is a selfless sacrifice that all parties except the Conservative should be commended on.  Now, that is real leadership! It is not the kind that you just spent millions of dollars on ad in order to create a Bush style pom pom of “I am a great leader” facade.

  1. First of all, someone should track Harper’s jet and Dion’s jet. See who actually pollutes more whizzing across the country.

Second, I too was amazed by that “Car Pool” dig. I mean, let’s be serious. How about someone throw some French terms and Harper and we can find out that he doesn’t know the word for daycare or live-in girlfriend is in Quebecois French.

  2. Since when do Corporations donate money…there is a limit, the same as personal contributions, so how come the Cons are so rich?

  3. I heard that the cost of Condolizza Rice’s bottle of wine (gift from Conservatives paid by canadians) was over 100,000$.
